Joel Wiggins is an accomplished entrepreneur, author, keynote speaker, mentor, educator, and marketplace influencer. His desire is to reach the hearts of men then educate, equip and empower them with the tools and resources necessary to go out and be a light in the world. Joel is the founder and CEO of The mPowerdigm Group and The Joel Wiggins Company, organizations that develop and equip men to lead in all aspects of life: home, health, finances, business, community and relationships.
Joel mentors “power players” all over the globe, sits on the boards of numerous corporations and community organizations, and advises entrepreneurs, executives and ministry leaders nationwide. Joel resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area with his wife and children.
Business Development Specialist
Dena has worked in oral surgery for over 21 years, both as an assistant, financial coordinator, marketer and practice administrator. She has also worked in content and social media marketing for the past 10 years, creating web content for dentists to use on their websites, blogs and social accounts. Although fluent in every aspect of dental practice administration, she enjoys nurturing practice growth more than anything else.
Her successful track record with patient case acceptance and dental insurance claims troubleshooting, makes her a valuable resource for both hosting offices and VIPS team doctors. Dena offers support, training and fresh ideas for our hosts and clients alike.
Practice and Patient Care Specialist
April Smith has worked in the field of dentistry for over 15 years – approximately ten of those years with Dr. Roberts as both a Registered Dental Assistant and most recently as the VIPS Patient Care Specialist and Office Coordinator.
April is the VIPS “go to” person when it comes to all new office/patient questions, including insurance issues, patient comment cards, post-surgery patient follow-up calls, etc. She is also responsible for preparing all VIPS office notebooks and for handling all QuickBooks case postings, as well as the VIPS employee payroll.
April enjoys being able to provide the above “virtual” services to several VIPS offices in Texas and in other states as well.
Marketing and Insurance Specialist
Ashley Wojan graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1993. She served as President of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity. Ashley utilized her marketing background by working in advertising. She was able to serve clients directly, thus gaining great interpersonal skills. Ashley’s depth of knowledge in dentistry is extensive. She led a periodontal office for five years as an Office Manager and followed that experience for the next 12 years at one of the finest restorative dental practices in North Texas. Ashley has a commitment to quality dentistry, and more importantly, to building quality relationships with both her patients and her team. She holds a Registered Dental Assistant license and has volunteered for many years with Texas Mission of Mercy and Dentistry from the Heart.
Ashley is proficient in all aspects of a dental office from the front office, to assisting, to business management and is knowledgeable about filing insurance and about working with insurance companies to achieve the maximum level of benefits. She is adept at troubleshooting and problem solving in order to help a practice succeed. Ashley lives in Prosper, Texas with her husband and her daughter.
Regional Director of Business Development
Lori Kester started her career in dentistry during high school as a dental assistant, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1998. After a successful career practicing hygiene on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, she moved to Texas, embracing the opportunity to expand her career by taking on the responsibility of managing the day-to-day operations of running a small business. Returning to the dental field, Lori found new passion in managing specialty practices and providing elite-level customer service to patients.
As the Regional Director of Business Development for VIPS, she combines over twenty years experience in the dental industry with her knowledge of service-oriented business management to support our doctors and their host offices with a systems-based, relationship-centered, collaborative approach. She works closely with client doctors and host offices to orient, train, and nurture healthy and successful relationships.
Lori and her husband, Rick live in Wylie with their Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs, and enjoy traveling, sailing, and Dallas Stars Hockey!
Director of Marketing
Laurie Whitworth has worked with Dr. Roberts in both an administrative and creative capacity since 1988 and has been with VIPS since its inception. Her responsibilities have grown with Dr. Roberts as his business has evolved over the years. Those duties now include a variety of services, such as: the designing of brochures, office forms, letterhead/business cards, fliers, newsletters, certificates, invitations, etc.; creative development assistance with ongoing special projects, such as Website development, continuing education, and Seminars for Success; and, document composition and detailed proofreading of all company-related materials, including correspondence, legal agreements, contracts, emails, etc.
As VIPS Director of Marketing, Laurie has enjoyed coordinating and implementing her skills during the practice development portion for each of the VIPS team doctors. Her job is mostly a “virtual” one, with the bulk of her work completed via email, fax, and telephone from her home office.Employment Application Form
